Tunisia's Football Federation has named former Orlando Pirates coach Ruud Krol as the national team’s interim coach.
Krol, who currently manages Tunisian giants CS Sfaxien, will coach the national team during the 2014 World Cup qualifier playoffs, following the resignation of Nabil Maaloul.
"The president of CS Sfaxien Lotfi Abdennadher and Tunisian FA president Wadii Al Jarii have reached an agreement to allow coach Ruud Krol to take charge of the national team in the interim," read a statement issued by the Tunisian FA on their official website.
"The agreement is for the coach to lead the team to the knockout stage of the World Cup qualifiers. During the preparation period, Krol will be able to exercise his duties as Sfaxien coach," the statement continued.
Krol led Pirates to a treble during the 2010/11 season, but was released by Bucs following the expiry of his contract. Last season he won the Tunisian championship with Sfaxien.
