Ajax Cape Town’s newest addition to the team, Ritus Krjauklis, is confident that he knows exactly what is expected form him under head coach Muhsin Ertugral.
Krjauklis, who agreed to a mutual termination of his contract following the departure of Ertugral, from Golden Arrows, revealed to the Siya crew that he found life at Abafana Bes’thende difficult without the Turkish mentor at the club.
Krjauklis told Soccer-Laduma, “I enjoyed the start there. The change of coaching staff at Arrows made it difficult for me. The new coach didn’t play me very often, so I spoke with the management and we agreed on me leaving.”
The Latvian defender slotted into at centre-back next to Dominic Isaacs against Mamelodi Sundowns in Ajax’s midweek draw at Cape Town Stadium.
The Urban Warriors are still in search of their first win of the season when they take on Polokwane City at the Peter Mokaba Stadium at 15:00 today.
Krjauklis heaped praise on his Ajax Cape Town teammates for the reception he has received since joining the team and says he understands what is expected of him.
“The players have made it easy for me, they are all very nice guys and they are easy to speak to. They are all very good players, lots of quality. I have worked with this coach before, so I understand what he wants,” added Krjauklis.
Ajax’s next three league opponents are Free State Stars at home, University of Pretoria away and Kaizer Chiefs at home.
