Kaizer Chiefs head coach, Steve Komphela has explained why Gustavo Paez does not start for the AmaKhosi.
Paez has only started one match in the Absa Premiership since his arrival in January, but has made an impact whenever he is called upon by Komphela.
Bernard Parker has been Komphela's first choice for most of the season, but he has opened up why the Venezuelan hardly starts.
"You have to look at it from a (Bernard) Parker point of view. Parker works extremely hard and he gives you a lot and he also helps you when you need to fight for the ball. Paez is more of your runner.
"We could play both of them, but it means you have to compromise Shabba (Tshabalala). That's a beauty of having a squad with talent.
"Whoever starts must take the advantage, whoever starts must make the difference. Twala goes in and he does make a big difference. Even Tight (Moloangane), he has been playing 90 (minutes), 90, 120, 90 and the matches we've been playing have been on the back of 48 hours.
"Even today, we didn't have George Lebese we wanted to have Lebese on the field. We still have a (Keagan) Buchanan, what more can you ask for and you can only play 11, so the starts you make are based on the face of whoever comes in will take the game to the next level."
