Komphela To Stay At Maritzburg

Following the fiasco surrounding Maritzburg United coach Steve Komphela’s alleged move to newly promoted PSL side Chippa United, it seems like the Team of Choice mentor will be staying put with the club.

The 47-year-old had been linked with a move to the Cape- based club in recent weeks, with the club going as far as confirming the appointment publicly.

However, Maritzburg United Chairman Farook Kadodia insisted throughout this period that Komphela would be going nowhere. The Chairman reaffirmed his stance through the media on more than one occasion.

As things stand, it seems as though Mariztburg will be holding on to their coach with the Chippa job now earmarked for Kosta Papic.

Soccer Laduma reported earlier that the former Orlando Pirates and Black Leopards’ Kosta Papic has been linked with the coaching position at Chippa United.
