Word reaching the Siya-crew is that Steve Komphela is set be named the new Maritzburg United after Clinton Larsen was sacked by the Team of Choice.
Larsen was only in charge for nine games since joining Maritzburg after resigning from Bloemfontein Celtic earlier this season, but could only manage one win in his time in charge, while losing six.
Komphela was at Free State Stars for over three seasons before he was let go just over a month ago. It was his second stint at the Bethlehem club
Our sources say that the former Bafana Bafana captain will return to Maritzburg for his second stint, having previously coached them in the 2006-2007 season.
Komphela who has also coached at Platinum Stars, Manning Rangers and Dynamos, was caretaker coach of Bafana Bafana before Gordon Igesund took over, and was a front-runner for the head coach position at one time. He was also coach of the South African under 20 and under 23 teams.
