Kaizer Chiefs head coach Steve Komphela has explained his substitutions, specifically the decision to take off Bhongolwethu Jayiya.
Chiefs' title hopes took another setback as they were humbled 3-0 at home by Chippa United on Saturday.
With regards to changing the playing style and making alterations to his line-up after using the same team for two games running, the response was a flat "no".
“No, you don’t have to be emotional in football but still apply your rationale. Look at how it happened. Did we take out Tower (Eric Mathoho)? Not really. Did we take out Teenage (Hadebe)? Yes, it was forced," Komphela told SuperSport after the game.
“(Bhongolwethu) Jayiya, unfortunately, didn’t have the best or inspired performance we had hoped.
"Not forgetting against Baroka FC and Free State Stars, he had great effect. We thought the same could happen today."
