Kaizer Chiefs striker, Knowledge Musona, may not even make his comeback against Mpumalanga Black Aces this week, despite his ankle injury not being serious.
The 23-year-old limped off the field during the 2-0 win over AS Vita in the CAF Champions League recently, going on to miss the PSL clashes with both Golden Arrows and Mamelodi Sundowns.
While the original diagnosis of his injury was that he would be fit enough to face Sundowns last weekend, it was decided not to rush him back and risk worsening his condition, a move that could be repeated on Wednesday night.
Musona underwent a late fitness test ahead of the clash with ‘Downs, with Chiefs’ medical team making the decision that he was not ready. It seems that the forward, who has been in fine form in recent weeks, will once again have to wait until the last minute to know if he’s given the all clear or not.
Following the defeat to Sundowns, the game against Aces has been added importance, with Chiefs needing to make sure that they retain their position on top of the Absa Premiership standings.
Also, a win over AmaZayoni would secure the Q3 prize for the Amakhosi and another R1.5 million in prize money.
