Bafana Bafana have qualified for the quarterfinal stage of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, where they will meet Mali, after playing to two draws and winning one of their three group stage games.
Despite finishing at the top of Group A, goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune believes that the team can do a lot better. Khune was instrumental in South Africa’s 2-2 draw with Morocco on Sunday, having made some crucial saves which ensured their passage to the knock-out stages.
The Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper is confident that they can go all the way, however he says that they are taking it game-by-game.
“I think we are capable of doing more. We can do much more and we are determined to keep on fighting. What we have done is to take one game at a time and play as a team. We have done that very well and we are just waiting for the next game.
“At this point it doesn't matter who we are playing, but how we are playing. We just have to keep on working hard. As for the saves against Morocco, that's my duty. Each player has a duty to play and that's my duty to makes saves,” Khune explained.
