South Africa will host Norway at the Cape Town Stadium on Tuesday as coach Gordon Igesund continues to prepare his squad for the 2013 African Cup of Nations.
With the African showpiece commencing on home soil in less than two weeks, Igesund is making the final adjustments to his team as he aims to guide the team to continental glory.
Itumeleng Khune, Bafana Bafana’s first choice shot-stopper, says that the team is in high spirits for both the international friendly and the Afcon. The Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper told the Siya crew that the Cape Town camp has elevated the team’s morale even further.
“We are ready. The spirit in the team is high. The morale is high. The players want to represent the country and do well. We all want to win against Norway, but just as a start of the good results that we want.
“Norway are a good team. We know they have good players who will give us good practice. We need a win as a motivation for everyone. We have to make the country proud from tomorrow night, and going forward,” Khune concluded.
