Khumalo: It’s An Honour

Bafana Bafana captain Bongani Khumalo was part of South Africa’s 2010 FIFA World Cup squad, and played in the opening game against Mexico at Soccer City. 

On Saturday he will captain the national team for the opening game of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations against Cape Verde and the Greece-based defender said that all the players are honoured to be part of the team and play in the opening game. 

 

He said that the players are motivated and that their is a positive mood within the camp. He said, “We are honoured. It's an honour and now it is up to us to honour the country by winning the first game and continue winning. 

 

“We will have the supporters behind us in the stadium and that is a motivation to the players. They will want to thank the supporters by winning," Khumalo added.
