Chiefs Latest Star: It’s A Dream Come True!

Khotso Malope Is Happy With His Winning Kaizer Chiefs Debut

By Soccer Laduma - Sep 22, 2017 09:39 AM
“Be ready for Wednesday” is what Khotso Malope was told by Steve Komphela earlier in the week, and the midfielder didn’t disappoint on his Kaizer Chiefs debut.

“I was nervous when I heard that,” the 23-year-old told Chiefs’ official website. “I was looking forward to starting in an official match for Chiefs.”

Malope, who spent the last two seasons with Moroka Swallows and Thanda Royal Zulu, finally got the chance to don the colours of the Amakhosi in an official game on Wednesday, playing 71 minutes as they picked up an impressive victory over the in-form Team of Choice.

Now, as he prepares to face Golden Arrows this weekend, the midfielder isn’t getting away from himself after a ‘dream’ debut.

Speaking to kaizerchiefs.com, he said, “We played against Maritzburg according to the coach’s instructions… From here on, I will take it one game at a time.

“For the moment, I am happy that we beat Maritzburg. Thanks and glory to God. Thank you also to the Amakhosi family for their support. This is a dream come true!”

Chiefs face Arrows at 20h00 on Saturday night.

these youngsters will survive it and come out alive... In 2 years to come they will be our trusted members in our national team... We might be not there yet but we are moving to the right direction. I'm pretty sure Baxter have more options to pick from...

Media put too much front on these young boys and some of them can not handle the pressure of being a famous soccer star and a hard worker. This boy labelled as the LATEST star! What is his name? How many professional games has he played? How old is he? Instead of nurturing young talent they get exposed before they reach any prominent level in their professional career. Apart from the fact that Percy Tau, Mshishi Zwane and Madisha plays for my team, but I can easily call them soccer stars!!!! They have seen it all already and they wear a star that they worked hard for.

You are this the best decision ever by Steve, throwing these boys into a deep end. I urge the Coach to give these boys more game time for them to get used to the high challenging premiership games and the ever demanding stature of being a Kaizer Chiefs player. With this we can't faulter Steve for we have seen that he is building something that will make us smile not today but tomorrow. This will be a motivating factor to those who are still within the development programs to do more as they will see that they are not being ignored by the senior team. I also would like us as supporters to give Steve a chance to mauld these players and not demand like we would if we were playing with more experience quality Players. Let's support this motion and trust Makhosi amahle we will reap the rewards in future if we do not get weary. Well done Steve. Introduce these boys gradually we wanna see uZuma and Drogba
