University of Pretoria Media Officer, Khathochelo Mbanda, will be leaving the club to join a Public Relations company.
Mbanda joined Tuks from Wits University in 2012, however, as previously reported by the crew, Mbanda was bid farewell by the club, although she poured cold water that she’ll be leaving the club after the crew had contacted her a week ago following a tip-off from a reliable source.
Speaking to the crew, Mbanda revealed that she will be joining a PR company, and that she will not be far from the game as she loves football.
“I’m moving to a PR company and when you called me last week, I wasn’t sure yet about my decision that’s why I denied it. I’ll still be in football, it’s my first love you know. It’s not about leaving football, but stopping to work in football at club level. I’m hoping wherever I’m going I will remain involved in football."
“It wasn’t easy to reveal that I’m leaving the club. It was like breaking up with a boyfriend. It’s one of the hardest decisions I had to take because football has made me who I am. I started at Wits, was mentored there under George Mogotsi and I learned a lot there, "said Mbanda.
Tuks believed in me, they gave an opportunity to work with them, I don’t know how to thank them. It was a very emotional decision and it’s still emotional. The season is almost finished, it’s just these two games left so I couldn’t wait for the end of it. I’ll still be around in football. I’m starting next week at my new job, I’m excited but a bit scared you know,” she concluded.
