The Siya crew can reveal that former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Junior Khanye, has been turned down by PSL rookies, Polokwane City. This follows his four-day trial at the club.
'Rise and Shine’s PRO, Patrick Baloyi, revealed to the Siya crew that the dazzling player failed to impress coach, Boebie Solomons and they have released him.
“Our technical team led by coach Boebie Solomons will not sign former Chiefs player, Junior Khanye, who has been with us for four days. He is rated highly by our coach but he feels he needed a player that will make an immediate impact as we aim to stay in the league. The coach informed the management that he won’t sign him not because he is a bad player but because he hasn’t been playing so he needs to work with him immediately. He’s not a player he’s looking for at the moment, he needs a player who will come in the thick of things and produce immediate results for the club.
“He’s a good player, he showed maturity coupled with discipline and the coach was impressed by that. We wish him all the best but we’re not closing doors for him in the future, he’s still young and can make a huge difference in football. We might invite him at the beginning of the season because the coach liked him,” said Baloyi.
However, the Siya crew contacted Solomons, and the coach confirmed that he had invited Khanye to train with his team but he didn’t want to reveal his decision on the player.
“Yes Junior was here, we are going to look at a number of players and I will not tell you yet as to what I have decided about him,” said Solomons.
