Former South African U20 and U23 international midfielder, Junior Khanye, has completed his move to Malanti Chiefs in the Swazi Premier League.
It was reported in the latest edition of Soccer-Laduma, issue 805, that the former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder would be joining the Swazi side.
The talented player confirmed with the Siya crew that he could be making his debut for the side this coming weekend. Chiefs are second on the table standings behind log leaders Mbabane Swallows.
“I have signed. I didn’t come here for a trial or anything like that but to sign a deal. These people know about me already. Apparently they came to watch me play during the December tournaments and were impressed. It’s a good deal.
“Their league is competitive. The team is second on the log. We are playing this weekend and the team has been busy registering us so that we could play. I am hungry for football. I just want to show people that I can play football and that I’m not taking chances.
“I know that I’ve been judged based on what happened previously. Whatever happened is in the past and I never killed anyone. The coach (Kenny Ndlazi) is very happy to have us around. The club surprised him when they signed us and he is excited. I have signed for six months,” said Khanye.
Chiefs already have former Orlando Pirates star midfielder Benedict ‘Tso’ Vilakazi on their books, after recently completing a deal. The side has former SA U23 coach, Ndlazi, leading the technical team.
