The Amakhosi Conductor – Billiat Shining At Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs now have back-to-back wins to show for their turnaround in performances this season, and one player – Khama Billiat – seems to be contributing more than most.
The Zimbabwean is one of only a handful of players to have played every single one of the Glamour Boys’ fixtures in the Absa Premiership and MTN8 this season, missing just 12 minutes from their 10 games so far.
Billiat came in as Chiefs’ marquee signing as he joined from reigning league champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, and while there was no transfer fee involved, it is reported that he is on hefty wages at Naturena as they tempted him to join the Glamour Boys.
Now though, the Zimbabwean is certainly managing to silence a few critics, and it appears that the attacker is certainly pulling his weight at the club as they look to try and bring a three-year trophy drought to an end.
With five goals and three assists in 10 games, Billiat has directly contributed to 50% of Chiefs’ 16 goals in all competitions this season, most recently setting up Gustavo Paez’s opener in the 2-0 win over Free State Stars on Tuesday.
Billiat, who got nine goals and eight assists in 21 games for Sundowns last season, will now have his target locked on AmaZulu this coming Saturday, as he looks to steer Chiefs to three consecutive victories for the first time since April 2017.
