Kaizer Chiefs defender, Kgotso Moleko, will definitely not play against Polokwane City tonight after being ruled out with injury.
It was recently reported that the 24-year-old was nursing an ankle injury that he picked up in the 2-0 Nedbank Cup win over SuperSport United, and that he was a possible doubt for tonight’s game.
It has now been confirmed that Moleko will play no part in tonight’s fixture, with Siboniso Gaxa set to regain his place in the club’s starting XI.
Baxter told the official Kaizer Chiefs website that the defender is ‘definitely ruled out of this trip’ though he didn’t mention how long his expected lay off is.
It was Gaxa who came on to replace Moleko during the game against SuperSport, with the full back helping to forge out a late win for the Amakhosi as the progressed into the semifinals.
There is some good news however, as Moleko’s ankle injury is not a serious one and should see him miss just one game, something that should please Baxter going into the season’s last few games.
