Thobejane Rues Defeat To Bucs
Kgoloko Thobejane Rues Orlando Pirates Defeat
Baroka FC coach Kgoloko Thobejane was left disappointed after his side crashed to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Orlando Pirates in Soweto.
The defeat brings the Limpopo outfit back to earth after seeing off SuperSport United with the same score-line in their last encounter at the close of the year.
“It went the other way, we wanted the three points but Pirates took it. We gave them the time to gain confidence in the first half when they were building up with their pocket passes,” Thobejane said in a post-match interview with SuperSport.
Lack of goals in the second half where they came out the strongest was their downfall, and Thobejane believes an early goal from the restart was crucial for a come back.
“Second half at least we played better it was pound for pound we came back stronger. But if we come back stronger and don’t convert your chances, it’s a problem," he added.
“If we had at least converted one chance 10 minutes in the second half, the game could have changed. But it’s a game of football.
“We have to go back and make sure the game that follows we punish them. That consistency is gone now."
