Sundowns Starlet Targets Chiefs
Mamelodi Sundowns youngster, Keletso Makgalwa, is taking aim at Kaizer Chiefs as he looks to show South African football fans what he can do during his loan with Maritzburg United.
The 21-year-old attacker completed a season-long loan move to the Team of Choice earlier this month as part of Lebohang Maboe’s permanent move to Chloorkop and wasted no time making an impact as he went on to score on his debut.
He is, however, waiting for his first win in Maritzburg colours having lost to both Free State Stars and Cape Town City, though he thinks that – with a bit of hard work – things will improve as the season goes on.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the South African youth international said, "I'm hungry to showcase my talent so I have to work hard… It feels good, I came here to get game-time and to work hard. I think against City we did play well even though we didn't get the result.
“We have to work harder, to work as a team. Now is the time to keep the team spirit and be together in this situation. We are looking forward to the game against Chiefs.”
The youngster played four games for Sundowns across all competitions in 2017/18, though is set to improve on that this season in Pietermaritzburg, having already played two so far.
Maritzburg host Chiefs on Friday night at Harry Gwala Stadium, with the Amakhosi in action tonight ahead of that game as they take on Baroka in the Absa Premiership.
