Bloemfontein Celtic head coach Ernst Middendorp has taken a precaution not to take Thembalethu Moses for tonight’s game against Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Stadium.
The Siya crew reported earlier this week that the Uitenhage-born goalkeeper was involved in a car accident last week, which left him bruised below his eye. He has been back training with the team, but is seemingly not ready to get back into action.
Moses has been playing second fiddle to Patrick Tignyemb for the better part of the season and will possibly make a comeback when Celtic take on Wits in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinal on Sunday at Kaizer Sebothelo Stadium.
Middendorp is likely to go with Bongani Mpandle as a replacement for Moses on the bench, with the former Mamelodi Sundowns net minder said to be working very hard behind the scenes while waiting for his chance.
A win tonight for Phunya Sele Sele could see them lying in fourth place, depending on other results.
