Dolly: I Want To Stay At Ajax
Ajax Cape Town midfielder, Keagan Dolly, who on Sunday evening was named as the Absa Premiership Young Player of the Season at the end-of-the-season awards ceremony, has reiterated his desire to stay put at the Urban Warriors.
The Johannesburg-born midfielder has reportedly attracted interest from the likes of former team, Mamelodi Sundowns as well as Kaizer Chiefs, but says he has no intention of moving away from the Cape Town-based club.
He told the Siya crew that though the award has put him on the map, it's not yet time for him to move.
"As for the award, it shows that hard work pays off. I have been working hard at my game and I am happy that it has paid off. But for Sundowns being interested in me, it shows that I am playing well, but I can't say I want to join them. I don't just want to sign for money and not play, so I will have to stay at Ajax or if things work out for me, then I have to go for trials at Ajax Amsterdam rather than join Sundowns. It is a football decision and I think I am happy at Ajax," he said.
Dolly further commented that his ultimate dream is to ply his trade overseas.
“My ultimate goal is to play in Europe and Ajax is the best club to help me realise this. I’m currently playing some good football. I would like to spend one or two more seasons at Ajax before considering a move abroad,” added the young star.
“My parents are the most important people in my life. I want to give them some of the money just to say thank you for all they have done for me, then I want to safe the rest,” he concluded.
It remains to be seen if 'Keagz' will remain at Ajax or go in search of greener pastures come next season.
Do you think Dolly should make a big-money move elsewhere or stay put at Ajax?
