Chiefs Signing In Contention For Amakhosi Debut
One of Kaizer Chiefs’ new signings, Keagan Buchanan, could be set to make his debut for the club this month after recovering from injury.
The 24-year-old creative midfielder joined the Amakhosi back in July after leaving Bloemfontein Celtic at the end of his contract, however, has been recovering from knee surgery that he underwent last season.
Now, after returning to full training, Buchanan has pulled on the Chiefs jersey for the first time, playing 45 minutes in the 2-1 friendly defeat to Celtic on Friday.
Buchanan hasn’t played a competitive game since Siwelele’s 2-0 loss to Mpumalanga Black Aces last year, although the Siya crew has been informed that he will be available for selection when Chiefs take on Platinum Stars next Wednesday.
It remains to be seen whether Steve Komphela will be quick to place Buchanan in his starting line-up following his return to fitness, though the player himself will no doubt be raring to go as he goes in search of his first appearance in the black and gold.
