Ke Yona Team Search Escalates

The inaugural Nedbank Ke Yona Team search will escalate this weekend when the 30 bidding soccer hopefuls head to boot camp, on Saturday, July 20.

The 30-man squad will be drilled as they aim to secure a place in the Nedbank Ke Yona Team that will face the 2013 Nedbank Cup champions, Kaizer Chiefs, at the start of the 2013/14 Nedbank Cup season.

Nedbank’s initiative to promote young talent is already proving to be a success, with Ke Yona Team hopeful, Kyle Davids, having been linked to Orlando Pirates, as previously reported by Soccer-Laduma.

Sydney Mbhele, Nedbank’s Divisional Executive for Integrated Marketing, says that the amount of entrants is a promising indication.

In a statement released by Nedbank, Mbhele said, “The thousands of entrants who took part in the trials has been a clear demonstration that South Africans are ready to make things happen for themselves.”
