Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Willard Katsande, has thanked his coach, teammates and the Amakhosi fans for his recent fine form in the gold and black.
The 28-year-old bagged his fifth Man of the Match award in the 2-0 win over Golden Arrows last night, a victory that put some breathing space between Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns.
However, despite his fine form, Katsande has remained modest, explaining to the club’s official website that he’s just focused on winning things for Stuart Baxter's side.
The Zimbabwean said, "The coach is helping me a lot. My teammates and myself stay hungry to do more. The talk of Player of the Season is secondary in my mind. What I want to do is to help my team win things.
"If we continue to play as a team, we will reach our goal. The supporters are also playing their part by encouraging us and attending our games. They are the 12th player and we wish they keep coming to the stadium to support us. We will go far with their support. We love them a lot.”
Chiefs currently find themselves on 52 points, three clear of Sundowns, and Katsande will be eager to make sure that his side put another three points between themselves and the Brazilians when they meet on Saturday.
