Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande has revealed why he couldn’t refuse to extend his stay with the club.
The Zimbabwe midfielder recently extended his deal with the club and will now be at the side until June 2017. The tough-tackling midfielder has been one of the key players in the team since joining from Ajax Cape Town in 2011, and is set to play a big role as the Amakhosi begin their Caf Champions League campaign next month.
“I was never going to refuse to extend my contract with Chiefs because I’m enjoying my football at the club. What I can say is that the past three years have been fruitful for me at Chiefs," Katsande told Zimbabwean publication Daily News.
He continued, "I have enjoyed every moment and the environment that prevails at this club, that’s why I did not think twice when they offered me an extension. I now want more trophies with Chiefs and hopefully write my own piece of history with the club,”
Stuart Baxter will again look to Katsande’s steel in the middle of the park when they take on Mamelodi Sundowns in the top-of-the-table league clash on tomorrow night.
