Kaizer Chiefs’ Zimbabwean defender, Lincoln Zvasiya, who was recently rejected by Durban-based Royal Eagles, is currently having trials at newly-promoted Cape Town Stars.
The 23-year-old featured in a friendly against FC Cape Town at Athlone Stadium on Saturday but according to the club’s team manager, Faeez Dulvie, it’s too early for a decision.
“I can confirm that Zvasiya played during our 1-1 draw,” he told Soccer-Laduma. “He’s still training with us so at this stage we’re not sure if he’s going to be signed or not.
“Regarding the six Bidvest Wits youngsters, Chaz Williams, Siyabulela Mose, Kwena Kubyane, Nkosinathi Sibeko, Paseka Sekese and Keegan Thompson, it looks like we could be taking three or four on loan.”
With just five days to go before the season starts in earnest, this week will be a mad rush for All Stars and numerous other NFD clubs, who’ll be sending their representatives to the PSL headquarters in order to complete the registration of about 500 players.
