Amakhosi Make Progress In Youth Ranks

Kaizer Chiefs' Youth Sides Are In Action This Weekend

By Soccer Laduma - Jun 01, 2018 08:02 PM
Kaizer Chiefs are making progress in their youth ranks as they prepare for future Amakhosi generations, and this weekend will see their U13s and U15s in action.

The Absa Premiership season may be over, but things don’t stop with the Amakhosi as their focus turns to their youth ranks, with their youngsters in action this weekend against a SuperSport United side that have an impressive track record with youngsters.

The game will be played at Sacred Heart College in Observatory in Johannesburg, and Ace Khuse, the coach of the U15s is optimistic.

He told the club’s official website, “It’s a great tournament to participate in…  It’s for the first time that we have Under-13s and Under-15s, which will help the upper youth sides in the future, as we now have adequate time to develop the players from a young age. This also means that we have more time to get the youngsters ready for the first team, which bodes well for the future.”

“It all depends on how you play and how hungry you are as a team, we want to make our mark.”

The matches of the U-13s and U17s will kick-off at 09h00, while the U15s will start at 10h30 and the U19s get underway at around 11h15.

The problem is are we playing the same type of football at senior team that is played by our juniors? We saw how those Arthur Zwanes boys play it's mzansi football style wit kasi flavour mix wit modern football they score almost every game 3 goals or more. They understand chiefs culture but the senior team seems to be playing a dfrnt brand of football hence this youngsters struggles to feature in the PSL I wouldn't completely say that r progressing..if only they vanish n we only see 2 or 3 being promoted to warm the stands in the PSL e.g. the like of meyiwa, ntiya ntiya , letlotlo n ngcobo

A step in the right direction. Good luck and keep it up. It would be better though if all those matches would be advertised on SABC so that the youth in rural areas can also be able to watch and be motivated. Great initiative!!!! I am sure it will be a great time for soccer enthusiasts.
