Kaizer Chiefs’ William Twala has reacted modestly to the praise being sent his way, saying that it is not about him, but about the team getting back to winning ways.
Twala put in a good showing this week but was unable to help his side pick up three points as they succumbed to a late Eddie Ngalo goal and drew 2-2 with Mpumalanga Black Aces, extending their winless streak to seven games in all competitions.
Now, as the club prepare to do battle with Ajax Cape Town on Saturday night, Twala says that the Amakhosi are working hard to make sure they end the season on a high.
The player, who received praise for his performance against Black Aces, told the media this week that he was more focused on team achievements than his own. He said, “It is not about me. It is about the team. I’m working for the team and I want us to win as a team.”
“We are working hard at training and soon the wanted results will come. Ajax are a good side, and we need the points as much as they do. It will be a tough match. We have been working hard and we are ready for Saturday.”
Chiefs face Ajax at FNB Stadium at 20h15 on Saturday night.
