Kaizer Chiefs face SuperSport United this weekend in a game that could potentially end the title ambitions of the loser, but one key name will not be available for selection.
Matsatsantsa will host the Glamour Boys on Friday evening at Mbombela Stadium as both sides look to keep their title hopes alive, but Kaitano Tembo’s side will have to try and do so without the help of their captain, Dean Furman.
Furman picked up his fourth yellow card of the season in the 1-0 win over Free State Stars last weekend, meaning that he now faces a one-game suspension going into the clash with the Amakhosi.
SuperSport have won just two of the 10 games that Furman has missed so far this season – he had a shoulder injury earlier in the campaign – but Tembo is hoping other players step up in his absence when going against Ernst Middendorp’s side.
Speaking to SuperSport after the Stars win, Tembo said, “It’s a big blow, you don’t want to lose a player like Dean when you’re playing Kaizer Chiefs… But I think it’s also an opportunity for the other guys to step up and fill in his shoes.”
There is some good news though, with Aubrey Modiba returning to the side following his suspension last week.
