Motaung Plans To Use Macufe To Improve
Kaizer Chiefs Want To Use The Macufe Cup To Fix Mistakes
Kaizer Chiefs’ Team Manager, Bobby Motaung, says that the club will use the upcoming Macufe Cup to rectify mistakes that have been made.
The Amakhosi face Bloemfontein Celtic at Free State Stadium on Sunday in the annual Macufe Cup game, and Motaung thinks that it can help them get back on track following the recent loss to Baroka FC.
He told the club’s official website, “This match will give our technical team a chance to rectify the mistakes we made in our last PSL fixture. It is also the FIFA break and we want to keep our match fitness in preparation for the upcoming tight fixture schedule.”
Meanwhile, regarding the festival itself, he added, “We are looking forward to once more be part of this festival of activities. To us, this is not only about the match. It is being part of ‘Setso’ (Culture). We’ve seen before that Bloemfontein will be abuzz with people from far and wide. And we want to be part of them, as most will be Chiefs supporters.
“All in all it’s about our community engagement through arts and culture. We look forward to the match and it’s all systems go on our side. We just wish the entire festival success and for the people to enjoy peacefully. Drive safe as Arrive Alive must be the order of the day.”
The game will take place at 15h00 on Sunday.
