Kaizer Chiefs may look to rest a number of key players for the PSL game against University of Pretoria on Saturday, as they keep one eye on the Nedbank Cup final.
Having already secured the league title with a 1-1 draw against SuperSport United in midweek, Chiefs go into the game against Tuks with nothing but pride at stake and it may be that they opt to leave out some of their key players from the season.
The likes of Tefu Mashamaite and Siphiwe Tshabalala both find themselves on three yellow cards meaning that a booking against Tuks would rule them out of the Nedbank final, and Stuart Baxter may decide to cut out that risk by giving them a rest.
Meanwhile, several players such as Tsepo Masilela, Bernard Parker and Reneilwe Letsholonyane have had heavy schedules this season, for club and country, and may be given a break in order to have them fully fit for the final on May 25.
Should the aforementioned players be left out of the side, then it could see players like Keegan Ritchie, Matthew Rusike and Siya Nkosi being brought in to take on Steve Barker’s men.
However, Chiefs could hit the 60 point mark should they claim a victory against Tuks and they will no doubt want to go into their game against SuperSport on the back of a win.
