Kaizer Chiefs are unlikely to look to coach Steve Komphela’s former assistant at Maritzburg United, Mandla Ncikazi, to join their technical team.
Ncikazi stepped into the head coach role vacated by Komphela at the Team of Choice during the off season but was recently relieved of his duties following a poor start to the campaign.
The 46-year-old is currently in Chile assisting Amajimbos at the FIFA U17 World Cup and there has been speculation that he may end up reuniting with Komphela at Chiefs.
Recently the Siya crew reported that the current Amakhosi mentor wanted to bring his assistant with him to Naturena but that Ncikazi wanted to take the challenge of being head coach in Pietermaritzburg.
The latest news reaching the Siya desk has indicated that the Glamour Boys are unlikely to move for the current SA U17 technical team member and will more likely promote someone within their setup.
Ace Khuse and Arthur Zwane have been touted to step into the role of assisting Komphela should Doctor Khumalo leave the position to take on the role of Technical Director. If that is to happen, it is understood Chiefs could look to bring in legend Thabo 'Tsikitsiki' Mooki to take over from Khuse or Zwane at youth level.
Who would be your preferred option to take over as Komphela’s assistant? Ncikazi, Khuse or Zwane? Have your say in the comments section below.
