Kaizer Chiefs have moved three places above Mamelodi Sundowns on FootballDatabase.com’s top African club ranking after their head-to-head Absa Premiership result this weekend.

Chiefs hosted the CAF Champions League winners at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, April 01, where Head Coach Steve Komphela claimed his first ever win over the Brazilians since taking charge of the bench at the Soweto giants.
The night’s league encounter ended with a 2-1 win to Chiefs, after Bernard Parker’s equaliser and Sundowns’ Soumahoro Bangaly’s own goal in the 34th and 77th minute respectively.
According to the ranking system on FootballDatabase.com, the Glamour Boys are now the 11th placed on the top African club ranking, while Masandawana moves down to 14th.
However, Chiefs and Sundowns are still the top two South African clubs on the African continent as stated by FootballDatabase.com, with Bidvest Wits at 19th placed, SuperSport United at 39th and Orlando Pirates trailing at 46th after their respective results in the Absa Premiership.
