Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be keen on overhauling their whole strike force in the next window, with their lack of goals being attributed to their disappointing 2015/16 campaign.
The Amakhosi are currently on a five-game winless streak and haven’t scored since Erick Mathoho’s goal against Polokwane City back in February, which has seen them drop to fourth place on the Absa Premiership table.
With that in mind, the Siya crew has been informed that the club are looking to rebuild their striking department once the next transfer window begins, with a host of new faces being targeted and some of the present strikers facing the exit door.
It is thought that Bidvest Wits’ Sibusiso Vilakazi, Prince Nxumalo of Ajax Cape Town and the Free State Stars duo of Sello Jafta and Moeketsi Sekola are all on the Glamour Boys’ wanted list for 2016/17 as they seek to stop the rot up-front.
Should Chiefs be successful in their attempts to lure any of the aforementioned attackers to Naturena within the next few months, then the likes of Edward Manqele and Bongani Ndulula are expected to be loaned out, sold or released by the club in order to make space.
Neither of the aforementioned players have managed to make a name for themselves at the club since joining the Amakhosi, with the pair having scored just one goal between them from the 11 Absa Premiership games they have featured in so far.
Meanwhile, Camaldine Abraw and Bernard Parker’s performances have also come under scrutiny, with the duo expected to improve their performances before the 2015/16 season comes to an end.
The Siya crew will continue to monitor the striking situation at Chiefs over the coming months to see what transpires, however there are many changes expected following Chiefs’ unsuccessful attempts to defend their league title this season.
Which player(s) do you think Chiefs should seriously look to acquire in the next transfer window?
