Kaizer Chiefs have explained why the club is so determined to get back onto the front foot, following their recent league defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns.
The loss to the Brazilians appears to have blown the PSL title race wide open, although the Glamour Boys still have a game-in-hand against their fierce rivals.
In addition, Chiefs will have the opportunity to get back to winning ways when they take on Black Aces on Wednesday (April 9) evening. Clive Barker's team have played some good football at times, and the experienced coach has even claimed that Aces' style of play has the potential to rival the league leaders.
Nonetheless, Parker has emphasised why the club is eager to put the defeat to Downs behind them.
He told the club's official website, "It was a smash and grab from Sundowns. We are still top of the log though and with an added advantage of a game at hand. The loss gave us a chance to realise we have to be on our front foot. Sundowns showed they want to take the league and we can't let them do that. We took a knock but we will make sure we win all our remaining games,"
The prolific striker added, "Aces are a strong team. They have assembled a strong team of good quality players and they showed that in their recent games. They picked up momentum and they are capable of causing damage if we don't up our game."
He concluded, "When the supporters stand behind us we gain advantage over our opponents. We are encouraged by the numbers that have been coming to our games. We will continue to work hard and win games to make them happy."
Wednesday's clash with Aces gets underway from 19h30 at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
