Chiefs Player Ratings v Hoffenheim

Soccer Laduma rates the individual performances of the Kaizer Chiefs players, following their 1-0 loss to Hoffenheim.
 
Here are the ratings:
 
Itumeleng Khune: 6
 
Looked assured on his return to the side, but was hardly tested and was substitute in the 55th minute.
 
Siboniso Gaxa: 6
 
Steady performance on the right flank but was replaced at the start of the second half.
 
Morgan Gould: 6
 
Gould put in a solid shift in the heart of the Chiefs defence and frustrated the Hoffenheim strikers.
 
Tefu Mashamaite: 6
 
Another consistent performance from the central defender, along with Gould, he was solid, most notably in the aerial duels.
 
Siphiwe Mtsweni: 6
 
A solid showing from the left fullback in the first half but was replace at halftime.
 
Matthew Rusike: 6
 
Started off slowly but had a bit of joy down the right flank, although the final ball did let him down on a few occasions.
 
Ivan Bukenya: 6
 
Proving to a capable replacement for the injured Willard Katsande in the middle of the mark, composed on the ball and made a few hard challenges as well.
 
George Maluleka: 5
 
Didn't see much of his attacking due to Hoffenheim's domination and was replaced in the 76th minute.
 
George Lebese: 6
 
Proved to a tricky customer for Hoffenheim's Andreas Beck on a few occasions but the final ball also let him down.
 
Siphiwe Tshabalala: 5
 
Similar to Maluleka, Tshabalala was often chasing shadows for large pats of the game due to the visitors' dominance with possession.
 
Siphelele Mthembu: 5
 
Given a rare start with Bernard Parker away with Bafana and Kingston Nkhatha leaving the club but failed to impress and was subbed in the 73rd minute.
 
Substitutes:
 
Rieyaad Pieterse: 5
 
Replaced Khune in the 55th minute, was hardly tested but could do nothing about Anthony Modeste's volley.
 
Levy Mokgothu: 6
 
Mokgothu replaced Mtsweni at the start of the second half, and held his own on the left flank.
 
Kgotso Moleko: 5
 
Not the best of Cameos for the Chiefs fullback and was caught ball-watching on a couple occasions.
 
Ovidy Karuru: NA
 
Was not on the field long enough to receive a rating.
 
Siyabonga Nkosi: NA
 
Was not on the field long enough to receive a rating.
 
Katlego Mphela: NA
 
Was not on the field long enough to receive a rating.
