Chiefs Player Ratings v Celtic
Soccer Laduma rates the individual performances of the Kaizer Chiefs players, following their 0-0 draw with Bloemfontein Celtic.
Here are the ratings:
Brilliant Khuzwayo: 6
Proved to be a busy night for Khuzwayo between the sticks, but managed to pull off a couple fine saves to keep Chiefs in the game.
Siboniso Gaxa: 6
Struggled in the first half against Lerato Lamola but got better in the second half, although he was quiet going forward.
Tefu Mashamaite: 7
The Chiefs captain continues to impress in the heart of the Kaizer Chiefs defence and did well to frustrate the Celtic attack.
Eric Mathoho: 7
Mathoho looks to building a solid partnership with Mashamaite, the 24-year-old was dominant in the air and nearly bagged a late winner for Chiefs.
Tsepo Masilela: 6
A solid showing from the Chiefs full back defensively, although he did not get forward as much as he is used to.
Willard Katsande: 6
Looked a bit lost in the first half and struggled to keep track of Lamola, although he improved in the second half, making some crucial tackles in the middle of the park.
Reneilwe Letsholonyane: 6
Not the best of games offensively for Letsholonyane, did well to keep things ticking despite the bumpy pitch but his final pass let him down on a few occasions.
Siphiwe Tshabalala: 6
A quiet game from Chiefs' attacking midfielder but his delivery from set-pieces were impressive.
Bernard Parker: 6
Played as the out-and-and-out striker for Chiefs, hardly had efforts at goal but continued to work hard for the side.
Mandla Masango: 5
Not the best of performances from Masango, struggled to get any crosses into the box and hardly got beyond his marker.
George Maluleka: 6
Worked hard in the midfield to help Chiefs keep the ball in the first half and had the best effort of the game with a powerful volley.
Siphelele Mthembu: 5
Replaced Tshabalala in the 69th minute but had no impact and wasted a good effort late in the half.
David Zulu: NA
Was not on the field long enough to receive a rating.
