Chiefs Defender In Fitness Race

Kaizer Chiefs defender, Philani Zulu, has become a minor doubt for the club’s clash with Chippa United after sustaining a muscle strain over the weekend.
The Amakhosi welcomed back both Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Kgotso Moleko this week after lengthy layoffs with knee injuries, while the likes of Ryan Moon, Tsepo Masilela and Emmanuel Letlotlo are still recovering from jaw, ankle and knee problems respectively.
Steve Komphela has had his fair share of injury woes this season with several players having spent time on the injury list despite not even being halfway through, but – if all goes well – it appears that Zulu is expected back for next week’s game against the Chilli Boys.
The club said on their official website, “Philani Zulu has briefly joined the injury list, but he’s expected to be ready for the next fixture. The left back picked up a muscle strain in the one-all draw against Free State Stars last Saturday.”
With Masilela injured and Sibusiso Khumalo out of favour, Komphela will no doubt be hoping that Zulu does recover in time as they look to try and close the gap on Baroka.
