Soweto giants, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, are keeping an eye on Maritzburg United striker Evans Rusike with the view of securing his services.
The in-form Zimbabwean arrived at the Team of Choice before the start of the current season, having scored eight goals for Hwange FC prior to his move to the PSL.
The pacy forward carried his goalscoring form with him, despite Maritzburg having endured a dismal run in the league, and has netted five goals in the league so far.
Rusike has also been a regular for Maritzburg this season and has started 16 games, whilst making two substitute appearances.
Chiefs made a host of attacking signings prior to this season, but they have yet to prove their worth, with the club recently going on a five game winless run, which included four losses and a draw without having scored a single goal.
Rusike signed a two-year contract with Maritzburg, which means that the interested parties would need to pay a transfer fee to secure his services at the end of the current campaign.
However, with the Pietermaritzburg- based club currently at the bottom of the league table, they may find it more difficult to hold onto their standout performers if they are relegated to the National First Division at the end of the season.
A Siya source close to the player confirmed the interest, "Yes, the two clubs are interested and I can confirm that his phone has been ringing non-stop with offers."
What advice would you give Rusike regarding his future? Which club do you think would suit him best, if he does leave his team?
