Kaizer Chiefs say that they are ‘studying’ the decision of the Premier Soccer League’s Disciplinary Committee after they were told to play at least two of their home games behind closed doors.

The Amakhosi were punished after the unruly scenes of April 21st as supporters stormed the field following a defeat to Free State Stars in the Nedbank Cup, with numerous people being injured and millions of rands worth of damage being caused.
A statement from the PSL earlier this week read: "The Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee has found Kaizer Chiefs guilty and ordered that they play three matches behind closed doors with one (of the three) matches suspended for a period of 24 months provided Kaizer Chiefs is not found guilty of a similar offence…
“The Disciplinary Committee further ruled that the matches which the club play behind closed doors must be scheduled for Kwa-Zulu Natal.”
It appears that the Glamour Boys are considering an appeal of the ban – which could get underway in September against Polokwane City – and the club’s official Twitter account explained this week that they ‘confirm that we have received the PSL Ruling and we are currently studying it’.
Chiefs’ next game sees them face Cape Town City on Saturday afternoon as they look for their first Absa Premiership win of the season.
