Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns are expected to battle it out for the signature of Keagan Buchanan once he becomes available at the end of the season.
The 25-year-old midfield man had a promising start to the 2015/16 season with Bloemfontein Celtic, however a horror knee injury meant that he required surgery and subsequently ruled him out for the rest of the campaign.
Now, however, there seems to be the possibility of a silver lining on the horizon, with both the Amakhosi and Masandawana believed to be interested in bringing him on board.
As things stand, Buchanan will be a free agent at the end of the current season, and with both clubs having a long-standing interest in the midfielder, they could choose this time to pounce.
Chiefs are having to face the possibility of losing Reneilwe Letsholonyane at the end of the season if he doesn’t agree to a new contract, while Sundowns will lose Bongani Zungu to Europe, and Buchanan may well be an option to come in an fill either of their boots.
