Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that they will be playing three of their home Absa Premiership encounters at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
The club released an official statement of their website stating that Durban is set to be their new home ground for three of their fixtures in the 2016/17 PSL campaign.
“We are excited to announce the Moses Mabhida Stadium as our alternative home venue for this upcoming season,” Chiefs’ marketing director, Jessica Motaung confirmed on the club’s official website.
In the 2015/16 PSL season, the Amakhosi graced Cape Town Stadium with their presence, allowing the Mother City to host three of their home fixtures, which was affectionately known as the ‘The Cape of Love and Peace’ period.
“The Cape of Love and Peace was awesome. However, we are delighted to now give Durban the chance to host three selected home games,” Motaung added.
The Amakhosi’s three fixtures set to take place at the Moses Mabhida Stadium are:
15/10/2016 Kaizer Chiefs vs Ajax Cape Town – 18:00
2/11/2016 Kaizer Chiefs vs Baroka FC – 19:30
18/02/2017 Kaizer Chiefs vs Highlands Park FC – 18:00
The Glamour Boys’ first Absa Premiership encounter will take place on Tuesday, August 23, when coach Steve Komphela’s new-look side travel to the Bidvest Stadium to face Bidvest Wits.
