Double Blow For Amakhosi
Kaizer Chiefs Have Two Players Suspended Against Ajax Cape Town
Steve Komphela will be forced to change his plans for Ajax Cape Town after two of his players were hit with suspensions going into their last game of the year.
The Amakhosi had four players running the risk of a one-game ban as they took on Platinum Stars on Saturday, with George Maluleka, Siyabonga Ngezana and Joseph Molangoane all on three yellow cards for the season and Willard Katsande on seven.
Chiefs managed to bring to an end their five-game winless run with a 1-0 win over Dikwena, although it came at a cost as both Molangoane and Katsande were booked during the game and will play no part against the Urban Warriors this weekend.
Katsande has played in all but one of Chiefs’ games so far in the Absa Premiership season as he remains an integral part of the side, while Molangoane stepped up to the plate following injuries to both Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Kgotso Moleko.
While Wiseman Meyiwa is likely to take Katsande’s place in the heart of Chiefs’ midfield, it remains to be seen who Komphela will opt to play in the absence of Molangoane, though there is a chance that ‘Rama’ or Moleko could return as they make their way back from injury.
The Glamour Boys host Ajax at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday evening.
