Gustavo Paez was ruled out of the recent MTN8 semi-final with SuperSport United after a ‘sinus infection’ returned, but the Siya crew has been informed that he has since returned to full training and in contention for this weekend’s squad.
Meanwhile, George Maluleka could also make a return after missing the whole start of the season so far, with the club stating earlier this month that he would return after the international break. The club’s official website stated, “George Maluleka has recovered from his injury and is training. The midfielder, however, will only be available for selection after the FIFA international break.”
The Amakhosi haven’t won a single league game this season – played five, drawn four, lost one – and will be hoping to try and bring that unwelcome run to an end on Saturday when they take on City at Cape Town Stadium in the Western Cape.
In terms of new signings, Andriamirado ‘Dax’ Andrianarimanana, Lebogang Manyama and Mario Booysen will all be chomping at the bit to get their debuts, though it remains to be seen if any of them are ready to play at this stage.
