The Glamour Boys are currently seventh in the Absa Premiership with just six games remaining, and are at genuine risk of slipping outside of the top eight, with a whopping 12 players having all missed at least one month of the season due to injuries.
Ernst Middendorp is dealing with the fact that players such as Itumeleng Khune and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo are out for the remainder of the season, while Lebogang Manyama and Joseph Molangoane may not play again in this campaign. Others like Lorenzo Gordinho and Happy Mashiane have been sidelined for some time.

Some injuries came at very crucial points of the season for Chiefs as they looked to progress in various tournaments, including the league, and though the players are back in action, Leonardo Castro, Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Philani Zulu have all missed lengthy chunks of the campaign.

Most tragic of all, however, is the story of young Wiseman Meyiwa, a very talented young player who was sadly forced to retire from football after a car accident that left him wheelchair-bound towards the end of last year.
