Knees, Groin & Ankle: Another Injury Scare For Kaizer Chiefs

While Emmanuel Letlotlo, Kabelo Mahlasela and Dumisani Zuma are making good progress, Teenage Hadebe is a doubt for Kaizer Chiefs this weekend.

The club’s first team physiotherapist Dave Milner, gave an update on the quartet this week as the Amakhosi prepare to face Bloemfontein Celtic on Saturday, with Zuma (groin), Letlotlo and Mahlasela (both knee) all being ruled out.

Hadebe, however, could be ok for the game as he looks to recover from an ankle niggle in time to keep his place in Steve Komphela’s starting XI.

Milner spoke to the club’s official website:

On Zuma:
“He is starting this week with light training.”

On Letlotlo:
“He will be undergoing a strength test and that will give us an indication of his state of recovery.”

On Mahlasela:
“He will see the specialist to give us an indication if he can start running on the pitch."

On Hadebe:
“We are checking Teenage. We will monitor him throughout the week.”

There was good news for Komphela though, with Gustavo Paez, George Maluleka and Erick Mathoho all returning to full training this week as Chiefs look to keep up their late title push.
