Amakhosi’s AmaZulu Ownership: 17 Not Out
Kaizer Chiefs have had AmaZulu’s number for over a decade now, with the stats showing that the Amakhosi own Usuthu when it comes to head to head match ups.
Take a look at some past results in the gallery above
The last time that the Durban-based outfit managed to beat Chiefs was back in March 2007 when Lucky Mzizi – on loan from Naturena, bagged a brace against Shaun Bartlett and co. in an Absa Premiership clash.
Since that day 10 years ago, Chiefs have beaten AmaZulu on no less than 14 occasions out of a possible 17, with the other three matches ending as 0-0 draws. In fact, the team from Durban have failed to score in 12 of those 17 encounters.
With the two teams set to clash at King Zwelithini Stadium this evening – their second encounter of 2017/18, Steve Komphela will be keeping an eye on making sure their form over Usuthu continues, especially with second place on the Absa Premiership table up for grabs.
Chiefs may have lost out on the MTN8 and Telkom Knockout, but the league title is still up for grabs with a third of the season gone, and victory this evening would take them to just one point within Baroka’s lead at the top of the log.
