Njabulo Blom has been shining for Chiefs in their Multichoice Diski Challenge team of late, and has been a regular for South Africa at youth level he will now be eager to get his chance in the Absa Premiership before the season is out.
The 19-year-old central defender, who recently played his part in helping Thabo Senong’s U20s qualify for the U20 World Cup in Poland, has secured himself a long-term deal with the Soweto giants for his efforts.
Blom joins the likes of Siyabonga Ngezana, Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya, Happy Mashiane and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo who have come through the development and into the first team, and he will no doubt be eager to follow in the footsteps of Mashiane as he quickly went from MDC to his Premier Soccer League debut.
For now, however, Blom will be focused on settling into his new environment and working his way into Middendorp’s good books.
