Coachless Chiefs Arrive In Potch
Kaizer Chiefs made the trip to Potchefstroom today to get their pre-season camp in the North West underway, with Patrick Mabedi still leading the way.
The Amakhosi are still in the process of trying to finalise their head coach for the new season following the exit of Steve Komphela back in April, and fans would have been hoping that the matter was finalised before pre-season began.
That is not the case, however, and with Chiefs pushing hard to try and persuade SAFA to let them speak to Stuart Baxter so that they can possibly tempt him into rejoining the club for the 2018/19 season.
In the meantime though, it is the interim coach, Mabedi, who is putting the club through their paces in the North West as he tries to prepare them for the season that lies ahead, with the Malawian being entrusted with the responsibility by management.
Chiefs are expected to spend around 10 days in Potchefstroom, play in the Maize Cup – which is being launched later today – and then end off their pre-season with a big clash with Mamelodi Sundowns in the Shell Helix Ultra Cup.
