Coachless Chiefs Arrive In Potch

Kaizer Chiefs Have Arrived In Potchefstroom

By Soccer Laduma - Jul 05, 2018 01:04 PM
Kaizer Chiefs made the trip to Potchefstroom today to get their pre-season camp in the North West underway, with Patrick Mabedi still leading the way.

The Amakhosi are still in the process of trying to finalise their head coach for the new season following the exit of Steve Komphela back in April, and fans would have been hoping that the matter was finalised before pre-season began.

That is not the case, however, and with Chiefs pushing hard to try and persuade SAFA to let them speak to Stuart Baxter so that they can possibly tempt him into rejoining the club for the 2018/19 season.

In the meantime though, it is the interim coach, Mabedi, who is putting the club through their paces in the North West as he tries to prepare them for the season that lies ahead, with the Malawian being entrusted with the responsibility by management.

Chiefs are expected to spend around 10 days in Potchefstroom, play in the Maize Cup – which is being launched later today – and then end off their pre-season with a big clash with Mamelodi Sundowns in the Shell Helix Ultra Cup.

Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed their interest in signing Bafana Bafana forward Phakamani Mahlambi. Reports suggest that Sundowns are looking to sign Mahlambi on a loan deal from Egyptian side Al Ahly. Mahlambi is set to replace Percy Tau who is linked with a move to Europe before the start of next season. Sundowns media co-ordinator Thulani Thuswa didn’t want to comment on the club signing Mahlambi who is currently in South Africa for the off-season break. “I cannot reveal whether we have signed Phakamani Mahlambi or not. The matter is sensitive at this point,” Thuswa told PowerSport.

I still believe that our left side needs to be reinforced. For now I'd like to assume that we signed Khama and Mirwa only and currently not much can be said about the latter. I believe we still need at least two more quality players. Be that as it may, I'd like to remind Khosinstion that in Mahlasela we have a Messi in our team, watch the space. I tip this boy to be named our best player come end of the season.

Mabedi is far better than Komphela so if you call him a coach then Mabedi qualifies to be called a coach too.

The instance you start seeing insolvent comments on a blog like this one, you must know that originators left Machanklos a bone ko washing-line to dry up before they logged on. That's why they fail to add value to discussions on this platform.

@Lieduma Floyd Shivambu needs to step in here...This is a clear undermining of our Vat Alles legend because he is black. Mabedi has a UEFA A license so he is qualified to take us forward until further notice. LieDuma is clearly waiting for a WHITE coach...
