Kaizer Chiefs' squad appears to have a relatively clean bill of health as the season reaches the critical final stages. The only exceptions at this point are Knowledge Musona and Reyaad Pieterse.
Musona is still recovering from a twisted ankle, although the good news is that recent scans revealed he had suffered no ligament tears. The Zimbabwean hit-man is expected to be back for Chiefs' crucial clash with Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday (April 5).
Pieterse's return seems less certain at this stage - the giant goalkeeper sustained a gash to his eye during the club's recent clash with AS Vita in the Caf Champions League. The club are reportedly waiting for the swelling to reduce on his injury before further action is taken.
Chiefs' medical team updated the club's official website on the progress of both players, saying, "Knowledge has no ligament tear and we will continue to monitor his pain level during the course of the week. No fracture was found on Reyaad, we have to wait for the swelling to subside so that he can open his eye again."
Another player who seems close to making a return to action is the influential Itumeleng Khune - the 26-year-old has been out of action for some time after sustaining an ankle injury. However, he recently resumed training, and could return in the near future.
It's thought that Khune could have every chance of being available for this weekend's clash with Sundowns.
