Giovanni Solinas has explained why Andriamirado Andrianarimanana was dropped to the Kaizer Chiefs bench, while a couple of other players recover from injury.
‘Dax’ was given his first start of the season last Wednesday as he played his role in the 1-0 victory over Black Leopards, however, was then an unused substitute in Chiefs’ disappointing 0-0 draw against Chippa United on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Bernard Parked joined Lebogang Manyama and Joseph Molangoane on the injury list, and Solinas is eager to try and get everybody up to 100% during the current international break as they’re given a couple of weeks to recover.
He told the club’s official website, “We are protecting some players, as they are not fully match fit… Remember, Dax arrived at the club carrying a niggling injury. He is getting there, but it will take a bit of time to catch up with the rest of the team.
“We will use the upcoming FIFA break to prepare the team for this clash. We hope that Manyama and Parker will return to full fitness during the period to add firepower (to) our offensive play.”
Mario Booysen, who left the field with a minor hamstring injury on Saturday, is likely to make a full recovery before Chiefs’ next game – the clash with Orlando Pirates on November 24th.
